USCIS Updated H-2B Cap Count for Both First Half and Second Half of the Fiscal Year 2010

USCIS has updated the count of H-2B visa petitions, received and counted towards the fiscal year 2010. As of March 5, 2010 USCIS has received approximately 41,762 petitions and out of these USCIS has approved 40,508 H-2B petitions towards the first half of the fiscal year. For the second half of the fiscal year 2010, USCIS has received 17,083 H-2B petitions out of which USCIS has approved 13,900 H-2B petitions and 3, 183 are still pending.

 

USCIS Updates H-2B Cap Statistics for FY 2010

USCIS has updated the H-2B cap count for FY2010. As of January 29, 2010, USCIS has received 41,947 H-2B petitions against the target of 47,000 out of which 38,071 petitions are approved and 3,876 are pending. USCIS has received 13,034 H-2B petitions for the second half of the fiscal year, also against a target of 47,000 of which 7,868 petitions are approved and 5,166 are pending.

 

USCIS Updates H-2B Cap Count for FY 2010

USCIS has updated the H-2B cap count for FY2010. As of January 22, 2010, USCIS has received 40,644 H-2B petitions against the target of 47,000 out of which 36,962 petitions are approved and 3,682 are pending. USCIS has received 11,044 H-2B petitions for the second half of the fiscal year, also against a target of 47,000 of which 6,108 petitions are approved and 4,936 are pending.

 

H-2B for FY2010 Moves Closer to Exhaustion

USCIS has updated the count of H-2B visa petitions, received and counted towards the fiscal year 2010. As of January 12, 2010 USCIS has received approximately 39,088 petitions and out of these USCIS has approved 34,533 H-2B petitions.

 

Fiscal Year 2010 H-2B Cap Count

USCIS has updated the count of H-2B visa petitions, received and counted towards the fiscal year 2010. As of January 3, 2010 USCIS has received approximately 35,947 petitions for the first half of the fiscal year 2010 and out of these USCIS has approved 32,138 H-2B petitions.

 

Vermont Service Center (VSC) Provides H-2B Filing Tips

The Vermont Service Center (VSC) provides guidance on the filing of H-2B petitions. The VSC stated that prior to filing an H-2B petition, the petitioner should confirm that the job is temporary, that the DOL has certified that no U.S. workers can be found to perform the job, that the beneficiary's employment in the US will not harm U.S. workers, and that all the requirements on the ETA-750 or ETA-9142 have been met. The H-2B petition should not be filed more than 120 days prior to the date of actual need.

USCIS has updated the count of H-2B visa petitions, received and counted towards the fiscal year 2010. As of December 11, 2009 USCIS has received approximately 31,186 petitions for the first half of the fiscal year 2010 and out of these USCIS has approved 28,930 H-2B petitions.

 

H-2B Visa Usage Climbs Up

November 30, 2009

 

USCIS has informed that employers may still file petitions for H-2B temporary nonagricultural workers for the first half of fiscal 2010, though filings continue to increase in this category as well. USCIS has received filings for 24,706 H-2B beneficiaries for the first half of the fiscal year. USCIS has determined that it will need to receive filings for 47,000 cap subject H-2B petition beneficiaries in order to reach the 33,000 half-year cap.

 

Latest H-2B Cap Count

November 16, 2009

 

USCIS has recently informed that, as of November 6, it has received 22,428 H-2B petitions. Of these, 20,937 H-2B petitions have been approved and 1,491 are pending. Employers can still file cap-subject H-2B temporary nonagricultural work petitions for employment start dates through March 31, 2010, the first half of the current fiscal year.

 

H-2B Still Available

November 14, 2009

 

USCIS has recently informed that, as of November 6, it has received 21,327 H-2B petitions. Of these, 19,736 H-2B petitions have been approved and 1,591 are pending. Employers can still file cap-subject H-2B temporary nonagricultural work petitions for employment start dates through March 31, 2010, the first half of the current fiscal year.
